Description

The shaft is a simple direct connection between devices, or between devices and wheels. It has the ability to engage, disengage, or break, to change the flow of power in the Powertrain.

Jbeam Variables

Name Type Optional Default Value Description
gearRatio number Ok 1 The gear ratio of a shaft, usually left as 1 to simulate a normal shaft.
friction number Ok 0 The friction torque applied to the input side of the shaft.
connectedWheel string Ok --- Specifies if the shaft is connected to a wheel.
canDisconnect bool Ok false Specifies if shaft can be disconnected from it's output.
breakTriggerBeam string Ok --- The shaft will be considered broken if the specified beam is broken.

Examples

Here is an example of the required powertrain section, along with the additional section for the properties.
